GIARDIA LAMBLIA TEST

A test to detect Giardia lamblia antigen in dog and cat feces. Giardia lamblia live in the digestive tract of the host, mainly in the small intestine (duodenum) and gallbladder. Infection occurs by ingestion of giardia cysts, which may be found on anything that has been in contact with contaminated feces from sick animals.

The most common symptoms of infection include:

• Severe diarrhea
• Abdominal pain
• Vomiting
• Emaciation
• Poor weight gain, especially in young animals
• Fever
