Spirulina ( Arthrospira platensis ) is a cyanobacterium from the genus Arthrospira. Spirulina contains vitamins A, C, D, E, K and B vitamins, as well as minerals. It is a very rich source of protein , because the dry matter contains over 60% of this ingredient. It is a source of y-linolenic acid (GLA) , which is highly nutritious for the brain and supports the work of the heart muscle . Spirulina is easily digestible, and all the vitamins and minerals it contains are well absorbed by animals. The high-molecular-weight polysaccharides that spirulina provides strengthen the immune system .
